Musings: Living Life (Lost Treasures)

Today I was clearing out the small cabinet and drawer in my computer desk (a job long overdue!), and I came across some old files.  All of you pack-rats out there will relate when I tell you there were all kinds of things stuffed in the files.  Much of it needed to be purged but, as often happens with me, I found some real treasures.

Musings: The Power Of Words

I’m back on one of my favorite subjects again – words.   In recent postings,Poetry- Words Painting Pictures,  Musings- Sharing Our Gifts And Talents, and Reading Or Writing- It’s Still About Words, I have spoken at length about my fascination with the written word.  Seeing the way that words are strung together by different authors to achieve different descriptive effects gives me great pleasure and reaches into my soul.

Poetry: Journey To Reality

 

As I slowly emerged from my “dark ages”,  poetry was a medium that I used to express much of what was happening in my life.  The free-flowing poem below represents a kind of summary of my downward spiral, followed by my first attempt to “come back to life”.  It reminds me of how I desperately gasped for air during my near drowning experience at age nine.
