Musings: Your Father

One of my morning readings yesterday carried that title: Your Father.  And although it was referring to God as Father, it made me instinctively think of my own father.  His name was Alfred, but everyone called him Alf.  He died 9 June 1997.

I know that unfortunately there are many people who do not have a good relationship with their father.  The sad statistics on child abuse the world over reflect this situation.  And I have read that these statistics do not give a true picture of the enormity of this problem because much child abuse goes undetected or unreported.

Life Coach: A Way Of Life

I can no longer ignore the fact that some of you may be wondering why the words Life Coach precede the words Spirit, Body and Mind at the top of my blog page.  Life Coaching is a new career field that has opened up in recent years and I am, in fact, a certified Life Coach.  I chose to get my certification with the Certified Coaches Federation (CCF).

Shared Wisdom: Grief

 

There has been much grief in my life and my church community’s life recently.  Many people’s hearts have been filled with sorrow.  Therefore, I thought I would share some special words about this poignant emotion that we all have to deal with at sometime in our lives.  None of us escapes the passing of family members or dear friends.  Death is the one absolute certainty in our lives and rarely do we die without experiencing the grief of loss.
