Musings: Life As Water

I don’t know whether I have shared the water story yet.  After searching through my archives I have come to the conclusion that I have not and feel compelled to write it now.

It all began a couple of years ago as I was dealing with the latest “bombshell” from our daughter.  I knew to the depths of my soul that I was in deep trouble internally, because I wanted to “shut down”, run away, not see or talk with anyone.  Those are all danger signals for me.

Poetry: Greek God on a Tube Train

As mentioned in my previous posting, Musings-  Creativity and Cold! here is the poem that I wrote in September 1980.  Perhaps I should set the stage a little.  I had returned to live in England in October 1978 having lived the previous ten years of my life on the beautiful island of Sardinia.  Sardinia is located about forty minutes flying time due west of Rome in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.  It is an Italian island.

Musings: The Muse Is Back

I’m never quite sure what happens to me when my normal routine is disrupted.  All I know is that it seems to take me forever to re-find myself, to get back into my everyday patterns and the activities that I love doing.  Sometimes the disruption is a “going away” thing; a trip, a vacation, a retreat.  Sometimes the disruption is caused internally; an emotional hiccup, a hormonal hill, an unexpected trauma.  The journey back is more difficult when the disruption is a “double-whammy” – a trip AND an internal shift.
