Musings: Time – Flying Or Not?

For the trillionth time in the past few years I heard someone say, “Oh my God, time is just flying by”.  And I mentally concurred as I noted the date on the calendar.  It’s November 2009, almost Thanksgiving with Christmas knocking on the door.  And, as usual, I found myself internally asking, “Where does the time go?”

Musings: The Power Of Words

I’m back on one of my favorite subjects again – words.   In recent postings,Poetry- Words Painting Pictures,  Musings- Sharing Our Gifts And Talents, and Reading Or Writing- It’s Still About Words, I have spoken at length about my fascination with the written word.  Seeing the way that words are strung together by different authors to achieve different descriptive effects gives me great pleasure and reaches into my soul.

Shared Wisdom: Words Both Past & Present

In the last week or so I have been presented with some beautiful words of wisdom that span that sands of time and that I would like to share with you.  The first piece is the oldest of all of them and was written by Lao-tzu 2,500 years ago.  It comes from a translation of part of one of the eighty-one verses that form his book, titled Tao Te Ching.
