Vignettes: The Spirit In Publix Supermarket

A couple of months ago I was part of a team putting on a women’s retreat.  We had come together on the Friday evening to do the set up and preparation for the weekend.  There was a lot of physical work involved and by the end of the evening I was tired, disheveled, and sweaty.  Although I felt in inner satisfaction at the work achieved, I did not feel pretty in that moment.

Poetry: Awakening to the World

These are some poems that I wrote as I became aware of the world around me.  They were written during the period 1979 – 1981.  There were many things changing in my life at that time, the most important being an emerging of my heart and soul from a very dark place.  Up until that moment in time I had lived a very selfish, egotistical life and noticed very little outside my own personal desires.

Nurturing Myself: Honoring My Body

A couple of days ago I had a bit of a traumatic experience.  In the bigger scheme of things it was just a blip on the horizon, but it changed my plans over the last few days, causing me to spend several hours at the doctors and then at the pharmacy, and has caused me some severe pain and discomfort.  Amazing what a small thing like a bee sting can do.
