Italy: Experienced Through The Senses

Italy is probably the most sensual of all places to live, and I don’t just mean because Sophia Loren lives there!  If you are looking for a feast for the senses then Italy is the place to go.  North or south, east coast or west coast, “mare o monti” – the sea or the mountains – each area or region offers its own delights.

Vignettes: Angie’s Wedding

Angie is the last of my nieces to be married.  She is a strikingly beautiful girl:  tall and willowy with an ivory complexion and dark features framed by long dark hair.  Since graduating from college several years ago, she has been to Africa to do some teaching and then spent over a year in Italy teaching English as a second language. Then she met Wadey.

The Caged Muse: On Vacation

I have been away, halfway round the world.  I left behind my laptop and gave myself completely to “il dolce far niente” – the sweet doing of nothing.  It was a family vacation in that we spent all our time with members of the far-flung family, first in England then in Italy.  We had two weddings to celebrate: a niece in West Yorkshire and and my youngest son in Aviano, northern Italy.
